Collection of personal data
Usage data
We collect and use your personal data to the extent necessary to enable you to use our website or to fulfill our contractual obligations (usage data). This includes, in particular, information for your identification and details regarding the start, end, and extent of your use of our website.
For advertising, market research, and to tailor our website to your needs, we may create user profiles using pseudonyms. You have the right to object to this use of your data.
We will not combine these user profiles with data identifying the holder of the pseudonym.
In individual cases, we are required to disclose this data (inventory data) to the competent authorities upon their order, insofar as this is necessary pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) and (d) of the GDPR for purposes of criminal prosecution, prevention of danger, fulfillment of the statutory tasks of the domestic intelligence agencies or the Military Counterintelligence Service, or enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Furthermore, we will not disclose your personal data to third parties without your explicit and revocable consent. This excludes our service partners who require data transfer for order processing (e.g., the shipping company responsible for delivery and the bank responsible for payment processing).
In these cases, however, the scope of the transmitted data is limited to the necessary minimum. Information regarding the use of personal data collected by third parties (e.g., Schufa) can be found in the respective terms and conditions of the retailers. META-Regalbau GmbH & Co. KG does not collect data from third parties.
Access data/server log file
We automatically collect and store information that your browser transmits to us in our server log files.
This includes:
1. Browser type and version
2. Technical specifications of the requesting computer (operating system, screen resolution, Javascript settings, etc.)
3. Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
4. Hostname of the accessing computer (IP address)
5. Time of page view
6. The addresses (i.e., the full URL) of the pages you visit on our site
The data is stored in our system’s log files. Analyzing these log file records in anonymized form helps us identify and resolve errors more quickly.
This also allows us to manage server capacity and further improve our services. We only use IP addresses in exceptional cases for the purpose of misuse analysis. Our legitimate interest in data processing under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR lies in these purposes.
This is also the legal basis for the processing. The data is not used for marketing purposes. The data stored in log files is deleted after a maximum of 30 days.
Inventory data
If a contractual relationship is to be established, defined, or amended between you and us, we collect and use your personal data on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 b) GDPR, insofar as this is necessary for these purposes.
Contact form
When you use our contact form, we collect the data necessary for processing your request.
This includes, among other things, your name, address, email address, and telephone number. The data is processed solely for the purpose of handling your inquiry or to be available for follow-up questions. This data will not be shared without your consent.
The legal basis for this data processing is Article 6 Paragraph 1 b) GDPR for contract-related inquiries and Article 6 Paragraph 1 f) GDPR for all other inquiries, based on our legitimate interest in efficiently processing incoming inquiries and documenting the processing results in case of follow-up questions.
Where our contact form requests information that is not required for contacting you, we have always marked this as optional.
This information helps us to clarify your inquiry and to process your request more efficiently. Providing this information is expressly voluntary and only with your consent (Article 6 Paragraph 1 a) GDPR).
If this involves providing information about communication channels (such as a telephone number), you also consent to us contacting you via this channel, if necessary, to respond to your inquiry. You can, of course, withdraw your consent at any time for the future in accordance with Article 7(3) of the GDPR.
Data transmitted via the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Mandatory legal provisions – in particular, retention periods – remain unaffected.
When you order through our shop at shop.meta-online.com, your personal data will be transmitted to your selected retailer to the extent necessary. Here too, we only request the data required for order processing. This data is processed on the legal basis of Article 6 Paragraph 1 b) GDPR. Upon order of the competent authorities, we are required in individual cases to disclose this data (personal data) insofar as this is necessary pursuant to Article 6 Paragraph 1 c) and d) GDPR for purposes of criminal prosecution, prevention of danger, fulfillment of the statutory tasks of the domestic intelligence agencies or the Military Counterintelligence Service, or enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Cookies
We use cookies to collect and store data.
The legal basis for the use of cookies is Article 6 Paragraph 1 f) GDPR.
Cookies are small data packets that your browser stores on your device at our request. They do not cause any damage. They do not contain viruses and do not allow us to spy on you. We use two types of cookies.
Temporary cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser (session cookies).
We also use persistent cookies. This type of cookie allows you to be recognized when you return to our website after leaving it.
Cookies enable us to track your usage behavior for the purposes and to the extent described above. They are also intended to optimize your browsing experience on our website.
They thus improve user-friendliness and benefit you (e.g., by storing login data).
You can configure your internet browser to prevent our cookies from being stored on your device or to delete cookies that have already been stored. Please refer to your browser manufacturer’s instructions for details on how to do this.
Each time you visit our website, you will be asked for your consent to the use of cookies. You can accept or decline cookies.
If you do not accept cookies, this may lead to limitations in the functionality of our services. You can change your mind at any time by clicking either “Accept” or “Decline” the clearly displayed red “Privacy Settings” button in the bottom left corner of the website.
Google Analytics
Our website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider of this service is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses “cookies.” These are small text files that your web browser stores on your device and that enable an analysis of website usage. Information generated by cookies about your use of our website is transmitted to and stored on a Google server. The server is usually located in the USA. The use of Google Analytics cookies is based on Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize our website and, where applicable, our advertising. IP anonymization: We use Google Analytics in conjunction with the IP anonymization function. This ensures that Google shortens your IP address within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to the USA. In exceptional cases, Google may transmit the full IP address to a server in the USA and shorten it there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. Browser Plugin: You can prevent your web browser from setting cookies. However, this may restrict some functions of our website. You can also prevent the collection of data relating to your website usage, including your IP address, and its subsequent processing by Google. This is possible by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. Opting Out of Data Collection: You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. This will set an opt-out cookie that prevents the collection of your data on future visits to our website: Disable Google Analytics. Details on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Google Maps
We use Google Maps from Google Inc. on our website. For the European region, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is responsible. In order for Google Maps to provide its full service, the company needs to collect and store data from you. This includes, among other things, the search terms you enter, your IP address, and your latitude and longitude coordinates. If you use the route planner function, the starting address you enter will also be saved. This data storage, however, takes place on Google Maps’ websites. We can only inform you about this, but we have no control over it. Because we have integrated Google Maps into our website, Google places at least one cookie (name: NID) in your browser. This cookie stores data about your user behavior. Google primarily uses this data to optimize its own services and to provide you with individual, personalized advertising. Data Deletion or Prevention of Data Storage: With the automatic deletion function for location and activity data introduced in 2019, information on location and web/app activity is stored for either 3 or 18 months, depending on your choice, and then deleted. You can also manually delete this data from your history at any time via your Google account. If you want to prevent location tracking, you must pause the “Web & App Activity” section in your Google account. Click on “Data & Personalization” and then on the “Activity controls” option. Here you can turn activities on or off. Legal Basis: If you have consented to the use of Google Maps, the legal basis for the corresponding data processing is this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). We also have a legitimate interest in using Google Maps to optimize our online service. The corresponding legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. However, we only use Google Maps if you have given your consent.
Google Cloud
We use Google Cloud, an online storage service for files, photos, and videos, for our website. The service provider is the American company Google Inc. For the European Economic Area, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is responsible. Google also processes your data in the USA. Google is an active participant in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which regulates the correct and secure transfer of personal data of EU citizens to the USA. You can find more information at
https://commission.europa.eu/document/fa09cbad-dd7d-4684-ae60-be03fcb0fddf_en . Google provides a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 of the GDPR, which serves as the legal basis for our customer relationship with Google. This agreement refers to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can find the data processing terms here:
https://business.safety.google/intl/de/adsprocessorterms/
Use of social plugins (Facebook, Xing, Youtube, Linkedin, Twitter)
This website does not use any social plugins (“plugins”). The social media buttons displayed from Facebook, Xing, Youtube and LinkedIn are simply links. The platforms are based in the USA. If you click on the link, you will be redirected to the provider’s website. The following data is transmitted: Your IP address and the referring URL. It is possible that this data can be linked to your profile. META-Regalbau GmbH & Co. KG does not collect or process data in connection with the social media buttons.
Data transfer to third parties
When you place an order on shop.meta-online.com, we transfer your data to the selected retailer for the purpose of processing the transaction. The transmitted data can be found in the terms and conditions of the respective retailer. Personal data will only be transferred to third countries if this is necessary to fulfill your order. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures. With regard to the transfer of data to recipients outside META-Regalbau GmbH & Co. KG, it should be noted that we only work with processors who offer sufficient guarantees that appropriate technical and organizational measures are used, which comply with the legal requirements for data protection and ensure the protection of the rights of the data subjects.
Data transfer to third countries
The data will not be transferred to third countries (countries outside the European Economic Area – EEA) unless this is necessary for the performance of the contractual relationship.
Data retention period
We process and store your personal data for the duration of our business relationship, which also includes, for example, the initiation and execution of a contract. In addition, we comply with the statutory retention periods.
Right of objection and withdrawal
In accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data, which is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR. You can send your objection informally to office@meta-online.ro. Some data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke your consent at any time. An informal notification by e-mail to info@meta-online.com and office@meta-online.ro is also sufficient to revoke your consent. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Data subject rights
You have the right to information in accordance with Article 15 of the GDPR, the right to rectification in accordance with Article 16 of the GDPR, the right to erasure (‘right to be forgotten’) in accordance with Article 17 of the GDPR, the right to restriction of processing in accordance with Article 18 of the GDPR, and the right to data portability in accordance with Article 20 of the GDPR. Furthermore, you have the right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) and the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (Art. 22 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) in accordance with Article 77 of the GDPR.
